Pastor Floyd's Bio

Floyd Morgan – Young Families and Outreach Pastor

Floyd is almost a native to Tucson since he attended Secrist Middle School and Santa Rita High School right here in town. He graduated from Southwestern College in Phoenix, Arizona with a B.S. in Church Ministries. He then spent 3 years as a youth pastor at Glendale First Baptist Church in Glendale, Arizona before going on to Biola University in La Mirada, California (Talbot School of Theology) graduating with a Masters in Biblical Studies. Floyd met his amazing wife Catherine while going to Talbot and together they have three boys: Byron, Blake, and Braden. Floyd has been a full-time pastor for over 25 years, most of which has been in Tucson.

What are you most passionate about in ministry?
I have a big passion for seeing people come to Christ and experiencing a life worth living! It brings me a lot of joy to watch what happens to a life completely sold-out to Jesus Christ.

What do you do for fun? Hobbies? Interests?
I spend a lot of time enjoying my family, even though my boys are almost all in college or graduating. I used to enjoy playing most any sport but am finding myself a little slower than I would like. My motto is, “I’m old, but I’m slow!” When I do find the time, I enjoy creating and building mechanical things. I am currently working on my 1969 project car which might see some paint in the next 3 or 4 years, who knows!
