Pastor Scott's Bio
Scott Kemper – Worship Pastor
Scott was born in Abilene, Texas, a small west Texas city three hours from Fort Worth. The youngest of three children, he grew up in a Christian home and was raised in a small Baptist church. Growing up he attended church services and events, however he did not come to know Jesus personally until he was sixteen after years of wrestling with God.
When his conversion took place, it was a drastic transformation. He was truly a new creation in Christ. It was during his late teen years that he first began playing guitar and leading worship in his high school youth group.
Shortly after conversion, Scott committed his life to full-time ministry, asking that God’s will be fulfilled in his life. In response to this commitment, he attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield Missouri, where he studied for a degree in church music. After spending three years at BBC, he was led to complete his degree with Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Liberty offered a comprehensive worship degree that was based not only on music education, but also on how to be a Spirit-led worship leader and provided many ministry tools. While at Liberty, Scott participated in a music ministry called, “Light Singers,” which primarily traveled to and ministered with the local churches throughout the northeast.
During this time he also became very passionate about songwriting, which led to the production and recording of his first studio album, “Oceans Roar.” After several wonderful years at Liberty, Scott moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he helped a church plant (Origins Church) facilitate and develop their worship music ministry. During this time he led worship for various camps, churches, and special event ministries across the country. His second album entitled “Run,” was written and recorded during this time as well.
In December 2009, Scott accepted the position of worship pastor with Christ Community Church, answering the clear calling of the Lord to be a part of what God is doing in Arizona. Scott is married to Gabriella (Campos) of San Diego, California. Their daughter, Stella Grace, was born November 11, 2011.
