Floyd is almost a native to Tucson since he attended Marshall Elementary, Secrist Middle School and Santa Rita High School right here in town. He graduated from Arizona Christian University in Phoenix, Arizona with a B.S. in Church Ministries. He then spent 3 years as a youth pastor at Glendale First Baptist Church in Glendale, Arizona before going on to Biola University in La Mirada, California (Talbot School of Theology) graduating with a Masters in Biblical Studies. Floyd met his amazing wife Catherine while she was finishing her degree at Biola. They have three boys: Byron, Blake, and Braden who are now living and serving the Lord all around North America. Floyd has been a full-time pastor for over 25 years, most of which has been in Tucson.
What are you most passionate about in ministry?
I have a huge passion for seeing people come to Christ and experiencing a life worth living! It brings me a lot of joy to watch what happens to a life completely sold-out to Jesus Christ.
What do you do for fun? Hobbies? Interests?
I enjoy the outdoors and spending time in the shadows of mountains, trees and cacti. I am a "gear head" at heart and like to work on my old project car and other things that are mechanical in nature. I also enjoy photography and would like to become a proficient videographer. I have always enjoyed every type of sport, especially basketball, but lately my 3 point jumper hasn't been falling...I think it has to do with the jumping part.
