Chris Chan grew up in Tucson and attended The University of Arizona, earning undergraduate and graduate degrees in Management Information Systems. After working 11 years at a leading software company, God called Chris to leave his career and enter the ministry. Since 2009, Chris has been working with ministry leaders as the Assistant Executive Director at Arizona Baptist Children's Services & Family Ministries.
As a youth, Chris was fully engaged in church ministry and local missions. He spent many summers leading VBS camps in inner-city Tucson, volunteering in hunger ministries, and going on short-term missions trips to Native American reservations in Arizona. He has taught Sunday School and Bible studies across different age groups and also led worship. Through these experiences, God gave Chris a passionate love for the local church that fuels hands-on involvement in ministry. Ministry can be challenging, but Chris draws his strength and encouragement from Joshua 1:9, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord God is with you wherever you go."
Chris met Elsa in college and they were married in 2003. They have three children, Abigail, Rebekah, and Ethan. The Chan family has been attending CCC since 2016 and has joyfully immersed themselves into many of the church’s ministries.
