Pursuit is the college and career ministry at Christ Community Church, a community of believers who hold one another accountable to pursuing God above all other pursuits. We will look to God's Word to teach, guide, and keep us active in our pursuit of Jesus Christ. We will spend time building relationships so that we can become a tightly knit community of believers who are impacting the world for the kingdom of God. We will spend time in worship of the one true God, creator of heaven and earth, who is calling us to Him.
As young adults and singles...
...there are endless pursuits you hold close to your heart. A career, a relationship, money or success, friends, good health, the list is endless. In and of themselves, these all are good things to pursue. God has gifted us and enabled us, to enjoy good things. God is not opposed to the pursuit of these things.
In Ecclesiastes 1 and 2, we find that Solomon pursued many of these same things. The end result, however, was that they left him feeling empty and meaningless. Solomon never tells us that these pursuits are bad, but at the end of the book he does tell us that unless God is pursued first, then all other pursuits are “vanity" and “striving after wind." Similarly, in Luke 12:31 we are told to seek first the kingdom of heaven then everything else that we need will be added to us by God.
Learn more about Brian & Katy McHolm,
the leaders of this ministry.
We are excited to be leading this ministry to the young adults at Christ Community Church. We have been married for 23 years and have been blessed with 6 wonderful children ranging in age from 9 years old to 20 years old. God has used these many years to continue to mold us into useful tools in His hands. We are so thankful for the opportunity to use the gifts and experiences He has given us to minister to the young adults at CCC during these very formative years of life. We love the opportunity to share our lives and to be blessed by sharing in the lives of these young people. God has specifically laid upon Brian's heart the joy and calling to teach the Word of God and to disciple believers. He has been teaching and meeting with young men for the last 15+ years. Currently he is teaching monthly at the Pima County Jail. Katy has been uniquely gifted by God to connect with young adults and to connect people with one another. She is a master at planning and coordinating, a wonderful wife and mother, and has become a great mentor and resource to many young women over the years. We were blessed to lead a similar ministry at "The Journey" church for about five years from 2003-2008, and were able to see many lives transformed by God. We hope you'll join us on Tuesday nights from 6:30-8:00p.m. at the Kishbaugh's home, 3580 N. Lynford Pl.
