Eric Naus comes to us from the windy city of Chicago where he served for several years at The Moody Church, pastoring college students and preaching regularly to a diverse congregation from all walks of life.
Eric grew up in Prescott, Arizona, so following God’s call to “go west” with his family was a return to his roots. As our Executive Pastor for Preaching, Eric teaches God’s Word each week and provides overall leadership to our worship services at CCC.
Eric earned his B.A. from Wheaton College and his MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and he was ordained by The Moody Church. Eric adores his lovely wife Abby, who shares his passion for church ministry, music, family life, and culture. Eric and Abby have five beautiful children. The Nauses are a lively bunch! They enjoy hiking outdoors, riding bikes, and travel. You’ll often find the Naus family climbing trees, singing with the music cranked up, and laughing till it hurts.
One of Eric’s favorite C. S. Lewis quotes says, “We delight to praise what we enjoy because the praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment.” The goal of Eric’s life is to know and enjoy the triune God and then invite others to enjoy Him too! Eric loves to find echoes of Jesus and the gospel in literature, film, relationships, and everyday experiences and then connect those illustrations to the truth of God’s Word. Pastor Eric’s hope and prayer for Christ Community Church is that the gospel would shape everything we say, believe, and do!
