Location: 530 S. Pantano Rd. (Tan 6), Tucson, Arizona 85710

Directions

This workshop is designed to help parents understand the problems children and teens are facing due to the high availability of pornography and its prolific use among teens and tweens. We will talk about how to address the issue with our kids in a non-shaming way and how to equip kids to make wise decisions when they see porn. There will be teaching, discussion, resources, and Q & A time each week for the 4 weeks of the workshop.

Some background information that might be helpful for parents to know:

  • The average age of first exposure to porn is 10 years old, some studies show it is now 8 years old
  • 90% of teen boys and 40% of teen girls admit to watching porn at least once a month (the stats on girls watching porn are quickly rising)
  • The affect on girls (even those who are not watching) to be more sexualized
  • Tweens and teens are viewing porn on line as a form of sex education because it is easy to access and saves them the embarrassment of asking parents, teachers, and friends

So, if you want to learn strategies for talking with your kids, helping them to make wise and informed decisions, and some tools to help protect your kids from the harms of pornography, come join us for 4 weeks of training and discussion.

This is a 4 session workshop beginning Sunday, April 18 at 9:00am in T-6. Please register here.
