First Friday for Women

Join us for a Pottery Class with Jack Delyria of Puddin River Pottery.

Introduction to Hand Building

Each participant will create a Fairy House or a vase. The class will include all the clay, firing, and glaze. Participants will need to bring rolling pin and a butter knife. It's  recommended that you wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty.

You will learn:

• Making a slab of clay
• Forming a shape
• Joining one slab to another
• Applying texture to add interest.
• Carving for detail and accent

Projects will be fired a the Puddin River Pottery studio after they dry (about 1 week to dry). Participants will be shown samples of available glazes and the pieces will be glazed and fired after the class. Participants can pick up their piece from the church after they are fired.
