Thatcher was born into a missionary family and was raised in Colombia, South America. His parents were linguists with Wycliffe Bible Translators (WBT). After completing a language translation project for the Piapoco tribe, his family relocated to the Tucson area where he attended CDO high school. Thatcher graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and has been working in microchip design and development for 30 years.

Growing up in a Christ-centered home, Thatcher was introduced to the love and grace of the Lord at a young age. His parents were instrumental in instilling a passion for God’s Word in his heart. In high school, while experiencing “culture shock” living in America, he started reading the whole Bible every year and grew in his faith and commitment to following Christ.

Thatcher married his beloved wife, Amy, in 2008, and the Lord blessed them with two precious children – Joy and James (in heaven). They started worshiping at Christ Community Church in 2008 and have been involved in a number of ministries through the years including Adult Equipping Classes, Children’s Ministry, and the Missions Committee. Together, their desire is to serve in the local church and seek first the Kingdom of God. They are grateful to be a part of this church family and for CCC’s commitment to teaching Biblical truth.
