The destination should be centered on something that you and your child find enjoyable and are able to bond around (i.e. sporting event, camping trip, shopping trip, etc.). A great tool for this trip is the James Dobson CD series “Preparing for Adolescence”. During the drive time you can play through the Dobson CD’s as a starting point for many of the subjects you hope to talk about with your pre-teen.
